Medical Malpractice, and/or Nursing Malpractice, is when a patient is injured as the result of a medical provider (doctor, nurse, physician’s assistant, or hospital facility) who deviates from the standard of care for a patient in need of a specific treatment. In this case the injured party must prove that the provider deviated from the standard of care and as a result significant injury occurred and the injured party suffered damages.

These cases are very specific to each set of circumstances. There are different expert witnesses needed depending upon what type of illness was being treated and who deviated from the standards of care. These cases are extremely complex and difficult due to the medical experts necessary to prove the standards of care.
